A dry treadmill belt kills the motor.
The belt slides on the deck. Without lube, it drags. The motor works harder, heats up, and burns out.
- ▪ The belt drags.
- ▪ Dry rubber on a wood deck creates friction. The motor strains.
- ▪ It gets noisy.
- ▪ A dry belt squeaks and squeals. That is friction you can hear.
- ▪ The motor overheats.
- ▪ Extra friction means extra heat. Motors run hot and die early.
- ▪ Lube fixes it.
- ▪ A few drops of silicone oil and the belt glides. Quiet, cool, smooth.

Silicone oil, safety key, application pad.
Everything you need to maintain your treadmill in one kit.

100 ml of pure silicone oil. Does not dry out, does not attract dust.
Universal safety key. If yours broke, this replaces it. Magnet type fits most.
Microfiber pad for spreading the oil evenly under the belt.
Lift the belt, apply oil, spread, run. Ten minutes total.
Not all lube is the same.
Oil based lubes dry out and attract dust. Silicone stays slick.

- ▪ Does not dry out.
- ▪ Silicone oil stays liquid. Does not turn gummy like petroleum based lubes.
- ▪ Does not attract dust.
- ▪ Dust sticks to oily lubes. Silicone is dry to the touch. Dust rolls off.
- ▪ Safe for the belt.
- ▪ Will not dissolve the rubber belt. Will not damage the deck.
- ▪ One bottle lasts a year.
- ▪ 100 ml is enough for 4 to 6 applications. One application every 3 months.
Lift, apply, spread, run. Four steps.
No special tools. Ten minutes.
Reach under the belt and lift the edge. The belt flexes, you can reach in.
Apply 5 to 10 drops in a line under the belt, along the center of the deck.
Use the application pad to spread the oil evenly across the deck.
Turn on the treadmill at slow speed for 5 minutes. The belt spreads the oil.

Check your treadmill safety key type. This is a magnetic key. If yours is a slot type, this will not fit.
Four rules that keep your treadmill running.
A little maintenance goes a long way.
- ▪ Lube every 3 months.
- ▪ If you run daily, lube every 40 hours. If weekly, every 3 months.
- ▪ Wipe the belt.
- ▪ Wipe the belt surface with a damp cloth once a month. Sweat and salt eat rubber.
- ▪ Check the safety key.
- ▪ The safety key cuts power if you fall. Test it monthly. Pull it out, the belt should stop.
- ▪ Do not over lube.
- ▪ More is not better. Too much oil makes the belt slip. 5 to 10 drops is enough.

Every 3 months or every 40 running hours, whichever comes first.
It fits most treadmills with a magnetic safety key. If your key plugs into a slot, this will not fit.
No. WD-40 is a water displacer, not a lubricant. It will dry out and attract dust. Use silicone oil.
5 to 10 drops along the center of the deck. One 100 ml bottle lasts 4 to 6 applications.
